Complementary and alternative therapies are not a true part of health care. They cause more harm than good. It is unfortunate that Steve Jobs was duped by the promises of complementary and alternative therapies. Working with an oncologist, I am well aware of other people who choose to pursue these alternatives. And many of these people are worst off than following the advice of their oncologists. I know a number of these people who have died as Mr. Jobs when they delayed their treatments.
I hate when people call them complementary and alternative medicine (or health). They are not really a part of medicine or health care.
